THIS VALVE IS DESIGNED TO ALLOW THE USE OF RAM AIR IN THE COCKPIT ENVIRONMENTAL CONTROL SYSTEM IN THE EVENT OF FAILURE OF THE REGULAR ENVIRONMENTAL CONTROL SYSTEM. THE VALVE BODY HOUSES A BUTTERFLY PLATE ASSEMBLY WHICH IS BOLTED TO A BUTTERFLY SHAFT. THE SHAFTROTATES IN AN ANNULAR BALL BEARING ANDA SEAL.THE BUTTERFLY SHAFT IS SPLINED TO MATE WITH THE OUTPUT SHAFT OF THE ROTARY ELECTROMECHANICAL ACTUATOR |
